Overview

What the work involves

An engine that comes into the July Street workshop is stripped completely, cleaned, and measured before a single part is ordered. Bores, journals, decks and bearing housings are gauged against OEM limits and the findings go into a written strip report — you approve the rebuild scope knowing what is actually wrong, not what somebody guessed on the phone.

Machining is done through established engineering houses in the Middelburg corridor. Bearings, seals, gaskets, injectors and pumps are OEM or OEM-approved equivalents, and the substitution is disclosed rather than buried in a line item.

On assembly, torque and clearance are recorded at every critical joint. The engine is run, timed and load-checked before it leaves, and it goes out with the strip report, the parts schedule and the run sheet.

What you get

What this actually changes for your operation

Quoted after strip, not before

You approve a scope built on measured findings. No open-ended rebuild that grows every week you ask about it.

Torque and clearance recorded

Every critical joint is recorded on the build sheet. If something is queried later, there is a number to check it against.

Parts disclosed line by line

OEM or approved-equivalent is stated per item. You know exactly what went into the engine you are paying for.

Run and load-tested before release

The engine is run, timed and checked under load in the workshop, so the first time it works hard is not on your face.

Method

How the work runs, step by step

Every stage has an output you can see. Nothing moves to the next step until the previous one is signed.
  1. 01

    Receive, log and strip

    2–4 days

Unit is received against a job card, photographed, and stripped completely with components tagged to the job.

  2. 02

    Clean, crack-test and measure

    3–5 days

Components are cleaned, crack-tested where specified, and dimensionally measured against OEM service limits.

  3. 03

    Strip report and quotation

    1–2 days

Findings, photographs and a line-by-line parts schedule are issued for approval before any machining or ordering starts.

  4. 04

    Machining and parts

    5–15 days

Machining is carried out through the engineering corridor on our doorstep; parts are drawn from OEM channels in Middelburg and Witbank.

  5. 05

    Assembly to build sheet

    4–8 days

Assembly proceeds with torque, clearance and end-float recorded at every critical joint on a signed build sheet.

  6. 06

    Run, test and release

    1–2 days

Engine is run, timed, load-checked and released with the strip report, parts schedule, build sheet and warranty terms.

Questions

What clients ask about this service

We do not quote a rebuild before the unit is stripped. The engine or transmission is stripped completely, cleaned and measured against OEM service limits, and you receive a written strip report with photographs and a line-by-line parts schedule. You approve a scope built on measurement, not on an estimate over the phone.
